Built by a retailer, for retailers.

The founder of tutch, Grant Oayda, is the driving force behind the technology solution and platform. With over 35 years of experience as a retailer, he saw an opportunity for technology to transform the physical store space, accelerate sales and increase staff productivity.

The Challenge

One of Grant’s stores, on Sydney’s popular Bondi Beach, experienced a shift in customer base and increase in overseas tourists. With this came a huge increase in demand for bulky sheepskin boots. Grant grew frustrated by how much space and capital was required to offer a compelling range to engage in a competitive and crowded market.

The Solution

So, Grant built a retail tool that minimised the stock and space investment while expanding the offer to the consumer.

Information rich and flexible touch screen journeys and new type of data management allowed for high-resolution photos and videos, to provide fast, reliable and engaging digital touch points in the store.

Not only did staff gain more confidence and time to engage customers, but customers were given greater control of their shopping experience with the help of the simple interactive touchscreen.

Inspired by the outstanding sales results, Grant founded tutch. Since then, he has been focused on building the next generation of customer experiences.

With over 35 years of retail experience, Grant has managed 32 retail stores across Australia, accumulating priceless insight into how technologies can be used to reimagine physical service spaces, accelerate sales and improve staff productivity.

Chief Executive Officer

Baldeep is guiding Tutch on the scale up journey and applying his vast experience in retail to drive growth. Previously holding the role of Head of Business Intelligence and Operations for Amazon in Seattle and leadership positions with CottonOn, Target and financial institutions across Australia and Asia, Baldeep has a deep understanding of consumer buying behaviour, as well as social and cultural trends across multiple geographies.

Ash knows the Tutch platform inside out. A technology and consumer start-up leader, his experiences comes from holding roles as a management consultant and GM for several companies in the retail, hospitality and health care spaces. Ash has proven capabilities to launch and grow start-up business revenue.


Felicity Herron

Felicity Herron

Chief Operating Officer

With extensive experience in retail, transport, logistics and petroleum, Felicity’s skills are highly adaptable to working with Tutch. Her pervious roles with Toll Group, Woolworths Ltd, David Jones and Burmah Fuels Australia saw her managing P&Ls and business operations with revenues up to $1.2bn. She has natural footing with business transformation projects, successfully leading customer managment, risk, audit and cost management campaigns to optimise financial performance.



Declan Lambe

Chief Financial Officer

Declan brings over 20 years of experience as a chartered accountant, leading several cap raises and IPOs. He’s currently a Principal at Daniel Allison & Associates and acts as a virtual CFO for other successful technology start-ups.


Sean Marshall

Senior Product Manager

Sean is an experienced technical product manager with a strong background in fintech, mobile, new product development and API/App ecosystems. He’s skilled at progressing new and ongoing digital product development and platforms and building solutions architecture around payments, mobile, security and application design.


Victor Gostev

Head of Engineering

Victor is an experienced solutions architect with experience in cloud platforms, identify access management, banking, wealth management, trading systems and payment/settlement systems. His previous experience saw computer modelling for Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Telstra and AMP.


Stuart Harker


Stuart is a strategic advisor, chairman and independent director with more than 25 years of experience operating at the highest levels of business in Australia and around the globe. He has a background in retail as PwC Global Retail & Consumer Advisory Lead Partner and IBM Global Business Services Retail & Consumer Consulting Partner. He is currently the Chairman for Slyp and a board advisor for a number of large private companies.


Gary McCartney


With over twenty years’ experience in design, Gary has gathered a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality, food service and retail worlds, and the roles design plays in them.
Starting in Northern Ireland and moving bases from London to San Francisco, he’s now based in Sydney, and has completed projects in North America, the UK, Europe, Asia and Australasia.
McCartney Design opened its doors in 2011, and has built a reputation based on being good listeners, observers, strategists, conceptualisers and, yes, designers.

Nikki Harkin


Nikki is a highly experienced HR executive and the founder of ExecCo.Search, which expanded from a recruitment firm into an advisory group. She worked in commerce, management and HR, management development, recruitment & executive search with large organisations like Morgan & Banks, Talent2, Cadbury Schweppes & Coles. She specialises in tech start ups and working with critical talent for technology, digital, data and data security industries.
